A risky business move + 3 20-minute workouts I love

Here’s a personal share: Not long ago it became abundantly clear that I was getting caught in social media spiral. I was getting into a habit of checking Facebook each and every time I would open my laptop. I’d check Facebook if I was in the middle of working on something that might be frustrating me. I’d check Facebook right before I went to bed. Slowly I began noticing inner conflict within me arise when deciding what I’d like to be doing with my time. I wasn’t feeling grounded in myself. Have you ever felt like that, too? So I made a decision to step away from social media entirely for a good chunk of the summer (most likely 4-5 weeks) to re-center. Social media experts believe this is not a smart business strategy. Consistency is key for a healthy online presence. I get it. At the same time I am interested in living and modeling a way of living that feels right. (And I plan to give you my presence and consistency in other ways in the coming month). So if you have been following Real Food Wellness on Facebook, know I am taking a 4 week hiatus to practice what I preach. I may occasionally pop on from an alternate account to post something I feel has good energy behind it. In the meantime, I’ve got some reading and some writing on the agenda (including a mid-month newsletter coming your way), a re-commitment to my morning spiritual practices, time to tend to some practical matters, and plenty of time to bask in the beauty of Michigan summers alone and with special people in my life. I encourage you, too, to carve out special time for yourself. Maybe time in nature, morning journaling, or simple belly breathing would do the trick. What does it take for you to feel more you? You get to decide. In our next newsletter/blog, I’ll be sharing some information about my Fall Workshop series, The Healthy Woman, that I’ll be offering live in my Eastown office. Here are the save the dates: Sep 12/ Oct 10/ Nov 14/ Dec 12 A last little note I thought I’d share 3 of my recent favorite at-home workouts that take 20 minutes or less. These sorts of workouts have become my own staples in physical self-care when I have a lot going on in my life. #1: A very simple, very effective 20-minute workout that engages all muscles #2: A 12-minute workout protocol by Dr. John Douillard. Also an interesting read on recovery training. #3: A wonderful online resource by Neila Rey that has a boatload of short workouts to do at home. The link I shared takes you to my favorite free 30-day program that requires 20 minutes or less per day! Sending lots of love. Happy Full Moon! Laura Like this article?
