I received my training as a Holistic Health Counselor from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City.
During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; Dr. John Douillard, Ayurvedic physician, and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.
My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
I’ve also received training from the Institute for the Psychology of Eating in Boulder, Colorado. As my teacher and mentor, Marc David points out, “the field of nutritional science has blossomed, a huge gap remains unfulfilled – an understanding of the heart and soul of eating.” I work with clients in the personal and emotional realms of weight loss, body image, energy and fatigue, immunity, mood issues, digestive concerns, compulsive eating, and a host of nutrition-linked health concerns.
If simply knowing enough information about healthful eating were enough, we all would be healthy, happy, and at our healthiest body weight by now. It is time we stop making nutritional choices solely on intellect and tap into the wisdom of the body.
