I received my training at multiple schools over the course of my career as a counselor, coach, and teacher.
During my professional nutrition training in New York City from 2009-2011, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. I’ve had the great honor of learning from Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; Dr. John Douillard, Ayurvedic physician, and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.
My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
In 2010/11 I continued to deepen my knowledge and work with clients, attending school once again in Boulder, Colorado studying of the psychology of eating, mind/body nutrition, and depth psychology in an effort to work with the heart and soul of eating. I work with clients in the personal and emotional realms of weight loss, body image, energy and fatigue, immunity, mood issues, digestive concerns, compulsive eating, and a host of nutrition-linked health concerns.
If simply knowing enough information about healthful eating were enough, we all would be healthy, happy, and at our healthiest body weight by now. It is time we stop making nutritional choices solely on intellect and tap into the wisdom of the body.
My education and training has also included a Masters degree in transpersonal psychology and level 3 training and certification in the evidence-based Internal Family Systems therapy.
