What we need to be talking about in our body image journey:
1. Your personal story, your body image history, what people and/or communities shaped your body image style in your lifetime – understanding this deeply 2. The collective story we all were born into, our shared experience and shared ideologies 3. Understanding body shame – What is it? Where did it come from? And how are we being called to move forward? 4. Embodiment – A powerful practice that I can attest TRANSFORMS poor body image. 5. Conscious Community – a conscious community of women who are able to share stories, offer reflections and act as mirrors to one another, and remind us we are not isolated on our journey
These ingredients (among a few other program topics) are critical yet often overlooked in the “love your body” movement. We are missing some key pieces in our approach and I’m here to fill in the gaps.
